Preview: Briggs Bruins vs. Eastmoor Academy Warriors
After two games on the road, Briggs is heading back home. They will take on the Eastmoor Academy Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
Last Tuesday, Briggs ended up a good deal behind the Bulldogs and lost 66-51. While losing is never fun, Briggs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 592nd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 104th).
Meanwhile, even though Independence scored an imposing 63 points on Tuesday, Eastmoor Academy still came out on top. Eastmoor Academy enjoyed a cozy 82-63 win over the 76ers. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Eastmoor Academy.
Elijah Watkins continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 23 points. James Nowell was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Briggs has not been sharp recently as the team's lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season. As for Eastmoor Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 7-10.
Briggs was able to grind out a solid win over the Warriors when the teams last played back in January, winning 79-71. Does Briggs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
