Brush scored a stunning upset when it knocked off Platte Valley, 28-10. At the time, the Broncos were ranked seventh in the state, while the Beetdiggers were 40th.

The biggest upset of the week belonged to University, who took down 86th ranked Eaton, 7-6.

Jeff Merritt put up the best numbers in passing as Fort Lupton topped Valley. He finished with 6 completions for 59 yards and 2 touchdowns. Merritt's favorite target this week was Colton McCutchan, who caught 3 passes for 36 yards.

Jacob Smith was a passing and rushing force as Strasburg beat Sterling.

Smith was the best running back in 2A Patriot this week. In 19 carries, he ran for 203 yards as the Indians lost to the Bulldogs. Teammate Mitchel Martin added to the ground attack by rushing for 47 yards.

Chase Klein was a key player and the best on defense this week as Brush defeated Platte Valley. He.

Troudt was the best receiver in the league this week as Eaton lost to University. Troudt racked up 5 receptions for 64 yards. Davis Anders helped Eaton's passing attack out by catching 6 balls for 55 yards.

Bill Mondt's team's Matt Burkart and Anders have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Burkart has thrown for 610 yards this season, while Anders, a 5-foot-10 receiver, has 20 catches for 281 yards. Strasburg's Smith leads the league in rushing yards with 614.

One of 2A Patriot's premier quarterbacks will face off with its top pass rusher when the Reds and the Blue Devils face off next week.

An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Randy Dreitz's team takes on Casey Doss' team. The Beetdiggers are in third place, while the Bulldogs are in first place.

The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Brush takes on University. The Beetdiggers have allowed 24 points this season, while the Bulldogs have given up 22. Brush allowed 10 points last week as it bested Troy Hoffman's team.

The Beetdiggers were able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after defeating the Broncos. Brush came in at 17 in the state poll after placing at number 40 last week.
