Baseball Recap: Thornton Takes a Loss

Thornton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 5-1 to the Rangeview Raiders. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Trojans of the 9-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2019.

Thornton saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ethan Stehle, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one double. Diego Aquino also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Thornton's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Rangeview, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Thornton will face off against Englewood at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Rangeview, they will square off against Aurora Central at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
