Colony faced Nikiski in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Knights sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Bulldogs. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-1 on Saturday.

Nikiski's loss came despite strong showings from Emma Hornung and Abby White. Hornung had nine digs, while White had eight digs.

The win made it two in a row for Colony and bumps their season record up to 21-11. As for Nikiski, their loss dropped their record down to 26-11-5.

Coming up, Colony is taking a road trip to face off against Soldotna at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Nikiski, they have already played their next match, a 3-1 victory against Seward on the 14th.
