Recap: Fredericktown Black Cats vs. South Iron Panthers
The Fredericktown Black Cats had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They put the hurt on South Iron with a sharp 53-29 win on Monday. Fredericktown might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won three games by 20 points or more this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fredericktown to victory, but perhaps none more so than Calie Allgier, who scored 17 points. That's the first time this season that Allgier scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Keira Francis, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Fredericktown's victory bumped their record up to 3-5. As for South Iron, their loss ended a 16-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 4-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fredericktown will take on West County at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for South Iron, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Bunker at 6:30 p.m. Bunker will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings (they are ranked 142nd, while South Iron is ranked 35th).
