Baseball Recap: Siloam Springs Wins Going Away Against Richmond-Burton

Siloam Springs saw some tournament action on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Richmond-Burton Rockets. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won four matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Jonathan Hyde made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits (and only one walk). He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Siloam Springs is 2-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 2-3 otherwise. Hyde was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Jack OBrien was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Siloam Springs is undefeated when OBrien posts two or more runs, but 1-4 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jaxson Anderson, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

The victory got Siloam Springs back to even at 4-4. As for Richmond-Burton, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

When Siloam Springs and Richmond-Burton next hit the field, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Siloam Springs will try to stop Harrison's six-game winning streak when they meet at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Richmond-Burton will square off against Glenwood and their ten-game winning streak at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
