Volleyball Recap: Niles Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Niles was the 2-1 winner over Three Rivers when they last played one another back in August, but their luck changed this time around. The Vikings fell 3-1 to the Wildcats on Thursday.

The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 9-25, 25-21, 25-23.

Leading Three Rivers to victory were Leah Kane and Peyton Roberts. Kane had nine digs and two aces, while Roberts had six digs and two aces. That's the most aces Kane has posted over her last nine matches. Abigail Pettit also deserves some recognition as she had her first blocks of the season.

Niles now has a losing record of 11-12. As for Three Rivers, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-11-3 record this season.

Niles and Three Rivers could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings. The Vikings (ranked 131st) will meet Mishawaka (ranked 46th) at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Three Rivers will take on Edwardsburg at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank disadvantage (94 vs. 33).
