Preview: Skyline Eagles vs. Brighton Bengals

The Skyline Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Brighton Bengals at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Winning is just a little bit easier when you work as a team to rack up ten more assists than your opponent, a fact Skyline proved on Friday. They walked away with a 55-45 win over West. The win was just what Skyline needed coming off of a 68-45 loss in their prior match.

Skyline can attribute much of their success to Karson Kaufusi, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds, and Kai Sorenson, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Kaufusi has scored all season. Landon Shaw was another key contributor, scoring ten points.

Meanwhile, Brighton didn't have too much trouble with East at home on Tuesday as they won 70-53. The victory was just what Brighton needed coming off of a 79-55 defeat in their prior matchup.

It was another big night for Nash Matheson, who scored 25 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Bradley Easton, who scored 15 points along with two steals.

Skyline's win bumped their record up to 10-6. As for Brighton, they now have a winning record of 9-8.

This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Skyline have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 26.2 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Brighton struggles in that department as they've been averaging 26.1 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.

Skyline came up short against Brighton when the teams last played on January 3rd, falling 60-51. Can Skyline avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
