Volleyball Recap: Flandreau Comes Up Short

If Flandreau was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Flandreau Indian on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Fliers lost 3-0 to the Castlewood Warriors on Tuesday. The Fliers have struggled against the Warriors recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

The final score came out to 25-21, 25-8, 25-18.

Ella Hoffman paced Flandreau's offense, picking up ten kills. Hoffman got some help from Nora Hamilton and her ten assists. Hoffman was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Flandreau's defeat dropped their record down to 6-20. As for Castlewood, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-10 record this season.

Flandreau didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against West Central on the 4th. As for Castlewood, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory against Wessington Springs on the 4th.
