Basketball Recap: Thunderbird Adventist Academy Falls Despite Big Games from Amanda Luca and Amer Agok

Thunderbird Adventist Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 31-18 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tri City Prep Panthers. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against Thunderbird Adventist Academy this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 49-37 back in December of 2024.

Thunderbird Adventist Academy's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Amer Agok, who posted nine points and eight boards, and Amanda Luca, who scored two points.

Even though they lost, Thunderbird Adventist Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Thunderbird Adventist Academy will venture away from home to challenge Trinity Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Trinity Christian will roll in looking for their 13th straight victory, something Thunderbird Adventist Academy surely won't give up without a fight. As for Tri City Prep, they are taking a road trip to take on Gila Bend at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Tri City Prep's defense has only allowed 24.9 points per game this season, so Gila Bend's offense will have their work cut out for them.
