Softball Recap: Tates Creek Find Success

After losing to Henry Clay the last time they met, Tates Creek decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Commodores came out on top against the Blue Devils by a score of 12-7 on Tuesday.

Hannah Jones was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Kylie Howell also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Tates Creek kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Tates Creek's win bumped their record up to 6-13. As for Henry Clay, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-10.

Coming up, Tates Creek will be playing at home against Lexington Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Henry Clay, they will square off against Woodford County at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Blue Devils' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Yellowjackets have averaged an impressive 7.3 runs per game this season.
