Softball Recap: Farmersville Takes a Loss

Farmersville was the 12-1 winner over Mt. Pleasant when they last played one another back in March of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Farmersville Farmers took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mt. Pleasant Tigers on Friday.

Farmersville saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacey Wheaton, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one RBI. Another was Alyssa Smith, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Farmersville now has a losing record of 0-1-1. As for Mt. Pleasant, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0.

Looking ahead, Farmersville will square off against Winnsboro at 2:45 p.m. on Friday. Farmersville is facing Winnsboro at the right time seeing as Winnsboro is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Mt. Pleasant, they will face off against Queen City at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday.
