Basketball Recap: Cristo Rey Find Success

While Cristo Rey has struggled on the road with five straight losses, that wasn't the case on Tuesday thanks to Xavier Sawaya. Cristo Rey breezed by the Bostonia Global Lobos to the tune of 76-8 thanks in part to Sawaya, who almost dropped a double-double on 22 points and nine steals. He has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last seven times he's played.

Another player making a difference was Jorge Alcazar, who went 7 for 15 on his way to 15 points and seven steals. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 2.5 steals per game.

Cristo Rey's victory bumped their record up to 3-8. As for Bostonia Global, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cristo Rey will square off against San Diego Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cristo Rey has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Bostonia Global, they will challenge School for Entrepreneurship & Technology at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
