Volleyball Recap: Gilroy Takes a Loss

If Gilroy was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of San Jose last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mustangs lost 3-0 to the Live Oak Acorns on Tuesday. The Mustangs have struggled against the Acorns recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Live Oak scored at least 17 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-19, 25-17.

Gilroy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Live Oak, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-6 record this season.

Gilroy will be playing at home against Mt. Pleasant at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Live Oak, they will square off against Overfelt at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Acorns are facing the Royals at the right time seeing as the Royals are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
