The Caldwell Redskins will square off against the Conotton Valley Rockets at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Conotton Valley's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Saturday: Caldwell hadn't allowed a single run the last three times they've hit the field. The Redskins never let Shadyside get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory on Wednesday. The win continues a trend for the Redskins in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won five in a row.

Hanna Reiter was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Sophia Marshall was another key player, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double.
Reiter wasn't the only one making solid contact: Caldwell kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Conotton Valley had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. Everything went their way against the Warriors as they made off with a 12-0 victory. That's two games straight that the Rockets have won by exactly 12 runs.
Maddison Kelley was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two doubles.
In other batting news, Conotton Valley got a big performance out of Brooklyn Kelley, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Ava Williams, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.
Caldwell pushed their record up to 6-2 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Conotton Valley, their record is now 8-1.
Saturday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Caldwell has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .460. However, it's not like Conotton Valley struggles in that department as they've averaged .446. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
