Shelby extended their winning streak to five games thanks to a huge performance from Tee Hollifield. The Shelby Golden Lions blew past the East Gaston Warriors 78-55 on Friday thanks in part to Hollifield, who dropped a double-double on 33 points and ten rebounds. He has been hot, having posted nine or more boards the last six times he's played.

The team also got some help courtesy of Lorenzo Roseboro, who posted nine points along with eight rebounds and five assists. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in assists.

When it comes to explaining why East Gaston lost, don't look at Sajuka Riley. Despite the final result, he scored 30 points. That was a full 54.5% of East Gaston's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's had more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Matthew Pierre, who put up nine points.

Shelby pushed their record up to 14-7 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.1 points over those games. As for East Gaston, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-18.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Shelby will take on Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 12 contests -- so hopefully Shelby likes a good challenge. As for East Gaston, they will challenge Burns at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in East Gaston's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matchups.
