Basketball Recap: Charlie Beardsley's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Frankfort over Pioneer

Frankfort was the 72-39 winner over Pioneer when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Frankfort Hot Dogs opened the new year with a less-than-successful 61-54 defeat to the Pioneer Panthers.

Several Hot Dogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Charlie Beardsley, who posted 15 points and eight rebounds. The dominant performance gave Beardsley a new career-high in boards. Rj Cornman was another key player, putting up seven points along with eight assists and five boards.

Even though they lost, Frankfort was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Frankfort dropped their record down to 1-9 with the loss, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Pioneer, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Frankfort will take on Lebanon at 7:30 p.m. on January 10th. As for Pioneer, they will face off against Frontier at 7:30 p.m. on January 10th.
