Baseball Recap: Legacy Charter Takes a Loss

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Legacy Charter and Geneva, and Legacy Charter kept the tradition alive. The Legacy Charter Eagles lost 12-5 to the Geneva Knights on Wednesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 1-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Gaven Arana was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Wyatt Gorby also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Legacy Charter's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Geneva, their win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1.

The future could be bright for both Legacy Charter and Geneva: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Legacy Charter will try to hand Ocoee their third-straight defeat when the two meet at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Geneva will look to extend Calvary Christian Academy's three-game losing streak when they meet at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
