Soccer Recap: Smithson Valley Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins at Home

If Smithson Valley was feeling good fresh off their 5-0 takedown of Wagner last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Smithson Valley Rangers fell 2-0 to the Tivy Antlers on Tuesday. The Rangers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Antlers earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

Smithson Valley's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-8-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 17 goals over those five matches. As for Tivy, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-8-1.

Looking ahead, Smithson Valley is taking a road trip to challenge Veterans Memorial at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Tivy, they will host Boerne-Champion at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
