While St. Croix Lutheran's victory against Concordia Academy wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Crusaders had just enough and edged out the Beacons 3-2 on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Crusaders in their matchups with the Beacons: they've now won three in a row.

St. Croix Lutheran was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (108-103), but they still managed to win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-22, 25-23, 16-25, 15-13.

Callie Oakland paced St. Croix Lutheran's offense, picking up 21 kills. Oakland got some help from Olivia Footh and her 27 assists. Violet Enter controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Addie Pickett and Piper Sutherland certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Pickett had 25 digs and seven assists, while Sutherland had 13 digs and two aces. Pickett has been hot recently, having posted 12 or more digs the last three times she's played.

St. Croix Lutheran's victory bumped their record up to 16-8. As for Concordia Academy, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-12.

St. Croix Lutheran does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Concordia Academy, they have already played their next matchup, a 2-1 loss against Dover-Eyota on the 11th.
