Soccer Game Preview: Fairfax vs. Robinson

The Fairfax Lions will head out on the road to square off against the Robinson Rams at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.

Fairfax came up short against Lake Braddock on Wednesday, falling 5-1. While losing is never fun, Fairfax can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 147th, while Lake Braddock are ranked 28th).

Meanwhile, Robinson waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Wolverines.

Robinson's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-1-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three games. As for Fairfax, their defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-4.

Fairfax suffered a grim 5-1 defeat to Robinson in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Lions avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
