Garrett Davis of Legacy Christian Academy is the Texas High School Football Player of the Week

Senior running back came up big in 6-man action.

After receiving nearly 30,000 votes, Garrett Davis of Legacy Christian Academy (Beaumont) has earned MaxPreps Texas High School Football Player of the Week honors.

Davis, a senior running back and linebacker, ran for 129 yards on 17 carries and four touchdowns along with four catches for 105 yards and two more scores. He also recovered a fumble and returned four kickoffs for 103 yards, including one for a score, in a 60-50 6-man win over Burkeville.

Here are the rest of this week's candidates, who collectively garnered almost 20,000 votes:

Nic Clark, Hedley: Senior running back ran for 347 yards on 21 carries and nine touchdowns. He also recorded 17 tackles, a sack and a fumble recovery on defense in a 64-43 win over Patton Springs.

Jalen Cooper, Steele (Cibolo): Junior wide receiver caught eight passes for 262 yards and four scores in a 62-31 win over Midland Legacy.



Owen Cossette, Cypress Ranch (Houston): Junior quarterback completed 28 of 35 passes for 479 yards and eight touchdowns while also running for 81 yards and a score in a 66-41 win over Cypress Woods.

Ezrian Emory, Hillsboro: Junior running back ran for 335 yards and seven touchdowns on 14 carries and was credited for 17 tackles, three tackles for loss, three quarterback hurries, a deflected pass and caused two fumbles in a 75-44 win over Jarrell.

Khalil Ewell, South Oak Cliff (Dallas): Senior running back carried the football 10 times for 191 yards and three touchdowns in a 49-14 win over Parish Episcopal.

Will Krzysiak, Argyle: Junior receiver caught eight passes for 285 yards and five touchdowns in a 62-0 win over Montgomery.

Sam Lee, Lake Creek (Montgomery): Senior returned a kickoff 75 yards for a touchdown and three punts for 134 yards and two more scores in a 73-7 win over Bellaire. In total, Lee accumulated 209 total return yards.

Haiden Thompson, Miami: Senior ran for 318 yards and five scores on carries and five touchdowns while completing 3 of 6 passes for 47 yards in a 56-28 win over Paducah. He also was credited for 12 tackles, two tackles for loss, deflected four passes and returned an interception 60 yards for another score.



Armirie Williams-Hall, Kimball (Dallas): Junior quarterback completed 18 of 24 passes for 482 yards and seven touchdowns in a 55-14 win over Sam Houston.
