Baseball Recap: Academy of the New Church Comes Up Short

Academy of the New Church came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 15-4 to Shipley. The loss continues a trend for the Lions in their meetings with Shipley: they've now lost five in a row.

Joey Kimenour made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Kimenour is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Dag Odhner also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Academy of the New Church now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Shipley, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Academy of the New Church will challenge Germantown Friends at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Shipley, they will head out to square off against Malvern Prep at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
