Basketball Recap: Robert Martinez's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Tatum over Quemado

Tatum suffered their closest defeat since January 20th on Thursday. They fell just short of the Quemado Eagles by a score of 46-43. The Coyotes were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2021.

Several Coyotes players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Robert Martinez, who posted six points along with seven boards and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Montez, who earned nine points.

Tatum's defeat was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-1.

Tatum wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 66-31 loss against Tournament Opponent on the 6th. As for Quemado, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 48-43 defeat against Gateway Christian on the 6th.
