Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask GV Christian). They blew past the Laughlin Cougars 82-51 on Friday. The win continues a trend for the Guardians in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won six in a row.

Leading GV Christian to victory were Nick Madsen and Wake Rolwing. Madsen went 11 for 17 en route to 27 points and seven rebounds, while Rolwing went 9 of 14 on his way to 27 points and five assists. The dominant performance gave Rolwing a new career-high in points. Dean Cootware was another key player, putting up nine points along with six boards and five assists.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: GV Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with 26 assists. They posted 15 more assists than Laughlin's also-impressive total of 11.

Despite the defeat, Laughlin saw an underclassman step up: freshman Kobe Phillips went 6 for 9 to rack up 17 points. Another player making a difference was Bryson Drescher, who posted ten points.

GV Christian's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-15. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.0 points over those games. As for Laughlin, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.

GV Christian has already played their next contest, an 83-38 loss against Needles on the 8th. As for Laughlin, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 57-48 defeat against Lake Mead Christian Academy on the 8th.
