Baseball Recap: Wasatch Wasps vs. Cyprus Pirates
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Wasatch had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They skirted past the Cyprus Pirates 5-3. This was a revenge game for the Wasps: when they faced off against the Pirates on Wednesday, they had to take a 10-4 defeat.
Bridger Shaw spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on seven hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jack Salmon, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. Austin Brown was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
