Softball Recap: Juarez-Lincoln Wins Going Away Against Brackenridge

Juarez-Lincoln saw some tournament action on Friday. They put the hurt on the Brackenridge Eagles with a sharp 16-1 victory. That's two games straight that the Huskies have won by exactly 15 runs.

Natalie Gonzalez made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. Gonzalez was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in runs.

In other batting news, Sarai Gomez and Genesis Valadez did most of the damage at the plate: Gomez scored two runs while going 1-for-3, while Valadez scored three runs while going 1-for-3. That's the most runs Valadez has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jayleen Garcia, who scored two runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Juarez-Lincoln always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .645. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Brackenridge only posted an OBP of .357.

The win made it two in a row for Juarez-Lincoln and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0.

Juarez-Lincoln didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 6-3 victory against Port Isabel on the 14th. As for Brackenridge, they have also already played their next game, a 16-1 loss against La Villa on the 14th.
