Baseball Recap: Stevenson Comes Up Short

Stevenson was the 8-7 winner over Lake Forest when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Patriots fell just short of the Scouts by a score of 8-6 on Monday. The Patriots have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Matteo Nolasco was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. Stevenson is 3-1 when Nolasco posts one or more home runs, but 8-11 otherwise. Jackson Merdalo also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Stevenson now has a losing record of 11-12. As for Lake Forest, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-12.

While Stevenson had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
