Baseball Recap: Trinity Takes a Loss

Trinity lost against Bethel Park back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Trinity fell 5-1 to Bethel Park. The Hillers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

J.R. Rieg was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out nine batters over 5.2 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Trinity saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Karson Hathaway, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That double marked the first that Hathaway hit this season.

Trinity's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Bethel Park, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-1.

While Trinity had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
