Basketball Recap: Plattsmouth Triumphs

Plattsmouth's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They snuck past the Pierce Bluejays with a 50-45 win.

Traceson Skalberg was the offensive standout of the matchup as he went 6 of 12 en route to 14 points and eight rebounds. Those eight boards gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Derek Nanke, who posted ten points and three blocks.

Plattsmouth has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 3-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.3 points per game. As for Pierce, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Plattsmouth will challenge Conestoga at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Plattsmouth is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.7 points per game this season. As for Pierce, it'll be Battle of the Birds when the Pierce Bluejays take on the Lutheran-Northeast Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
