Basketball Recap: Salem Baptist Christian Comes Up Short

Salem Baptist Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They came up short against the Statesville Christian Lions, falling 28-2. The Vikings were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 20-0.

Danae Davenport was Salem Baptist Christian's leading scorer, having posted two points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Statesville Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Stephanie McDonald, who posted four points and seven steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Layne, who put up six points and eight rebounds.

Salem Baptist Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Statesville Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.

As for Statesville Christian, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against University Christian at 5:30 p.m. Statesville Christian will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
