Volleyball Recap: Eastside Takes a Loss

Eastside came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 3-0 to the Crystal River Pirates. The defeat continues a trend for the Rams in their meetings with the Pirates: they've now lost three in a row.

The final score came out to 25-9, 25-17, 25-15.

Neeah Mewborn paced Eastside's offense, picking up four kills. Mewborn got some help from Kayana Mickens and her five assists. Mewborn was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Eastside's loss dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Crystal River, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-7 record this season.

Eastside has already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against North Marion on the 18th. As for Crystal River, they will take on Deltona at 4:00 p.m. on the 26th.
