Mira Costa faced Sierra Canyon in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Mustangs fell just short of the Trailblazers by a score of 2-1. The Mustangs' defeat signaled the end of their 11-game winning streak.

Audrey Flanagan paced Mira Costa's offense, picking up 18 kills. Flanagan got some help from Milly McGee and her 18 assists. Finally, McGee was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high two blocks.

Mira Costa's loss dropped their record down to 21-8. As for Sierra Canyon, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 32-3.

Coming up, Mira Costa will welcome Palos Verdes at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sierra Canyon, they have already played their next matchup, a 2-1 victory against Archbishop Mitty on the 4th.
