Soccer Game Preview: Eagle River vs. West Anchorage

Eagle River is 0-8-2 against West Anchorage since April of 2017 but things could change on Thursday. Wolves will square off against the Eagles at 7:30 p.m. Eagle River has given up an average of 6.1 goals per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Eagle River is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Alaska's top teams: South Anchorage, who was ranked first at the time (Eagle River was ranked 12th). Wolves came up short against the Wolverines on Thursday, falling 11-0.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 1-1 at halftime, West Anchorage was not quite Service's equal in the second half on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 2-1. West Anchorage have struggled against Service recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

West Anchorage's goal came courtesy of Zuma Thoms, who's now up to two this season.

Eagle River's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for West Anchorage, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4-1.
