Basketball Recap: Frazier Takes a Loss

After flying high against Mapletown last Tuesday, Frazier came back down to earth. The Frazier Commodores were outmatched by the Greensburg Central Catholic Centurions and fell 89-45. While losing is never fun, the Commodores can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 294th, while the Centurions are ranked 37th).

Frazier's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brant Alekson, who made all 5 shots he took for 10 points and six boards. The dominant performance gave Alekson a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Dailan McManus, who posted ten points in addition to three steals and three blocks.

Frazier's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Greensburg Central Catholic, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Frazier will be playing in front of their home fans against Riverview at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Greensburg Central Catholic, they will venture away from home to take on Clairton at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Clairton has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 206 points over their last three contests.
