Basketball Game Preview: St. Stephens Indians vs. East Burke Cavaliers

The St. Stephens Indians will face off against the East Burke Cavaliers at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. St. Stephens will be strutting in after a victory while East Burke will be coming in after a defeat.

St. Stephens is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Draughn: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Indians blew the Wildcats out of the water with a 76-34 final score. With the Indians ahead 42-15 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Meanwhile, East Burke unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They came up short against Alexander Central on Tuesday, falling 77-53. The Cavaliers were down 61-41 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

St. Stephens will have to keep a close watch on Owen Hartmann and Tyler Brown, a pair of players who had a big impact on East Burke's prior game. Hartmann shot 42% from the field to rack up 16 points along with seven boards and five assists, while Brown posted 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of RJ Williams, who had six points and three steals.
