Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Somerset). They were the clear victors by a 21-11 margin over the Rockcastle County Rockets on Monday. The victory continues a trend for the Briar Jumpers in their matchups with the Rockets: they've now won nine in a row.

The team relied heavily on Kole Grundy, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, three RBI, and one triple. Somerset is undefeated when Grundy posts two or more runs, but 4-14 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Caynan Sizemore, who got on base in all six of his plate appearances with three runs and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Somerset kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 21 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.6 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 11.

Somerset's win bumped their record up to 9-14. As for Rockcastle County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.
