The Axtell Wildcats are on the road again on Tuesday to play the Silver Lake Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. Axtell will be strutting in after a victory while Silver Lake will be coming in after a defeat.
Having struggled with three losses in a row, Axtell finally turned things around against Wilcox-Hildreth on Tuesday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Falcons.
Axtell easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-11.
Meanwhile, Silver Lake didn't have quite enough to beat Deshler on Monday and fell 3-2. The Mustangs have struggled against the Dragons recently, as their game on Monday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Silver Lake actually scored more points across those five sets (100-93), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-18, 13-25, 15-25, 15-9.
Axtell's victory bumped their record up to 14-12. As for Silver Lake, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-12.
