Basketball Recap: Devyn Davenport's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Rangeview over Denver East

Rangeview lost against Denver East back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Rangeview Raiders came up short against the Denver East Angels, falling 54-32. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 75th, while the Angels are ranked 11th).

Several Raiders players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Devyn Davenport, who posted 11 points and seven boards. Maddie Kilmer was another key player, putting up eight points and six rebounds.

Evelina Otto was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 20 points and 13 boards for Denver East. Otto is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: she's pulled down at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Grace Hall, who earned ten points in addition to seven boards and six assists.

Rangeview has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-9 record this season. The victory made it two in a row for Denver East and bumps their season record up to 11-8.

Rangeview wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 48-46 win against Vista PEAK Prep on the 14th. As for Denver East, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 75-45 victory against Northfield on the 14th.
