Basketball Game Preview: Mohave Thunderbirds vs. Flagstaff Eagles

Mohave is 1-9 against Flagstaff since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. It'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Mohave Thunderbirds challenge the Flagstaff Eagles at 7:00 p.m.

Mohave is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 61 points last Friday, they were much more limited against Prescott on Friday. They had to suffer through a 109-29 loss at the hands of the Badgers. The match marked the Thunderbirds' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Flagstaff's contest on Thursday was close up to the half, which is when they kicked things up a notch. They claimed a resounding 64-36 victory over Lee Williams. The win was some much needed relief for the Eagles as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

The victory got Flagstaff back to even at 11-11. As for Mohave, their loss dropped their record down to 9-8.

Mohave couldn't quite finish off Flagstaff in their previous meeting on January 7th and fell 57-55. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Flagstaff's Harrison Fritsch, who went 8 of 12 en route to 18 points and eight rebounds. Now that Mohave knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
