Basketball Preview: Harding County Ranchers vs. Dupree Tigers
Harding County is 2-8 against the Tigers since February of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Harding County Ranchers will head out on the road to take on the Dupree Tigers at 5:30 p.m. Harding County will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.
Harding County can now show off 11 landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Saturday. They blew past Lemmon, posting a 56-22 win on the road. 56 seems to be a good number for Harding County as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Harding County's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Claire Verhulst, who scored 11 points, and Macey Wendt, who scored 11 points along with five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wendt has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kelsi Costello, who scored nine points.
Meanwhile, Dupree unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 55-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of McLaughlin.
Harding County's win bumped their record up to 14-0. As for Dupree, their loss dropped their record down to 6-8.
Harding County came up short against the Tigers in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, falling 64-58. Can Harding County avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
