Downey is 9-1 against Johansen since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Knights will challenge the Vikings at 4:00 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with nine consecutive losses for Downey and three for Johansen.

Downey came up short against Enochs last Thursday, falling 15-1.

Meanwhile, Johansen lost 19-2 to Modesto on Wednesday.

Johansen saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Isabelle Cardenas, who went 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that Cardenas has hit this season.

Downey's loss dropped their record down to 1-21. As for Johansen, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-14.

Everything went Downey's way against Johansen when the teams last played back in February of 2024, as Downey made off with a 15-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Knights since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
