Basketball Game Preview: Florida State University High School Seminoles vs. Bay Tornadoes

The Florida State University High School Seminoles will square off against the Bay Tornadoes at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Florida State University High School will be strutting in after a win while Bay will be coming in after a loss.

Bay will be up against a hot Florida State University High School squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Florida State University High School claimed a resounding 55-22 victory over Gadsden County. Given the Seminoles' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 120th, while the Jaguars are ranked 323rd), the result on Thursday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Bay came up short against Choctawhatchee on Friday and fell 42-31. The Tornadoes haven't had much luck with the Indians recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.

Florida State University High School will need focus on slowing down Breanah Peace, one of several Bay players who made an impact when they last played. She posted five points and 13 boards. Peace has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more rebounds the last nine times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Nevaeh Childs, who scored 15 points and five boards.

Even though they lost, Bay smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in six consecutive games.

Florida State University High School's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-9. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.3 points per game. As for Bay, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-9.
