Baseball Recap: Mount Abram Takes a Loss

After flying high against Spruce Mountain on Tuesday, Mount Abram came back down to earth. The Roadrunners fell just short of the Maranacook Black Bears by a score of 9-7 on Friday. The Roadrunners have struggled against the Black Bears recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Walker Wolfe was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one triple. He also put up a hit, which was his first of the season. Landen Marble was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

Mount Abram's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Maranacook, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-2.

Coincidentally, Mount Abram and Maranacook will both be playing Oak Hill the next time they take the field. The Roadrunners will host the Raiders at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, while the Black Bears will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
