Basketball Game Preview: Crimson Cliffs Mustangs vs. Mountain View Bruins

After both having extra time off, the Crimson Cliffs Mustangs and the Mountain View Bruins will dust off their jerseys to challenge one another at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Crimson Cliffs is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.

Crimson Cliffs is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They fell to Cedar 67-62.

Despite the defeat, Crimson Cliffs saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Josie Myers went 9 of 15 en route to 24 points and five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Myers has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Zee Brinagh, who posted 11 points and seven rebounds.

Even though they lost, Crimson Cliffs was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Mountain View played a tough game last Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Salem Hills an easy 57-37 victory. While losing is never fun, the Bruins can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 58th, while the Skyhawks are ranked sixth).

Crimson Cliffs' loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Mountain View, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.
