Football Game Preview: King Jaguars vs. St. Francis Spartans + How To Watch

The King Jaguars will take on the St. Francis Spartans at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. King's defense has only allowed 13.2 points per game this season, so St. Francis' offense will have their work cut out for them.

King is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They enjoyed a cozy 21-6 win over Corliss. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Jaguars.

King found their leader in sophomore Jamar Lewis, who rushed for 177 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries. The Jaguars are 7-1 when Lewis posts two or more rushing touchdowns, but 0-3 otherwise.

King was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 304 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.

Meanwhile, St. Francis posted their closest victory since October 25, 2024 on Saturday. They skirted past Prairie Ridge 41-38. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Spartans' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 20th, while the Wolves are ranked 72nd).

King better keep an eye on Brock Phillip. He was instrumental in St. Francis' win, rushing for 57 yards and four scores, while also throwing for 158 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 90% of his passes. Those four rushing touchdowns gave Phillip a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Tivias Caldwell, who rushed for 115 yards on only 13 carries.

King's record now sits at 7-4. As for St. Francis, their record is now 8-3.
