Cottonwood and Geneva County are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2022, but likely not for long. The Bears will square off against the Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

On Friday, Cottonwood got the win against Samson by a conclusive 12-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bears.

Meanwhile, with a playoff win on the line, Geneva County rose to the challenge on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over the Bears. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 games by seven runs or more this season.

Geneva County is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-13 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Cottonwood, their win bumped their record up to 7-14.

Cottonwood might still be hurting after the 15-0 loss they got from Geneva County when the teams last played on Friday. Can the Bears avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
