Recap: Stargate School Eagles vs. Jefferson Academy Jaguars
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Colorado Academy, the Stargate School Eagles were happy to have found some success on Saturday. They walked away with a 51-38 win over Jefferson Academy. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Stargate School also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
Stargate School was led to victory by Dylan Perkins and Hunter Roark. Perkins scored 17 points along with six rebounds and two blocks, while Roark dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Perkins posted two or more blocks.
Jefferson Academy's loss came despite strong showings from Jimeto Orji and Josh Neely. Orji scored nine points along with six rebounds, while Neely scored 13 points along with seven rebounds.
Jefferson Academy struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Stargate School's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Jefferson Academy, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-4.
Stargate School will head out on the road to take on The Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Jefferson Academy, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Colorado Academy at 2:30 p.m. on January 20th. Colorado Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Jefferson Academy in Colorado (Colorado Academy is ranked 15th, while Jefferson Academy is ranked 184th).
