Breese Central barely beat Metro-East Lutheran the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Cougars were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Knights on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won eight matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

The win made it two in a row for Breese Central and bumps their season record up to 14-9. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Metro-East Lutheran, they moved to 13-8 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Breese Central will venture away from home to challenge East Alton-Wood River at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Metro-East Lutheran, they will head out to face off against Springfield Southeast at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
