            Softball Recap: Highland Park Hornets vs. Sunray Bobcats        
        
		
        
        
            Highland Park was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight  defeat. They came up short against  the Sunray Bobcats, falling  18-12. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game  last Tuesday (11), the Hornets still had to take the loss.

 Kaitlin Lucas spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six earned  (and 12 unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up nine Ks. As a matter of fact, that's the most  runs  she has scored all season.
 At the plate, Highland Park got a big performance out of  Haley Rogers, who  scored two  runs while  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances. That's the most  runs  Rogers has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of  Jade Flores, who  scored a  run and  stole  Three bases. while  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances.
 Even though they lost, Highland Park  lost a few balls and  finished the game with two  home runs. That's the most  home runs they've managed all season.
Highland Park's loss dropped their record down to 3-10-1.
 Coming up, Highland Park will square off against Gruver at 11:00  a.m.  on Tuesday. As for Sunray, they will be playing in front of their home fans against West Texas  at 4:00  p.m.  on Friday.
